Summer Steam Sales: Day 3

Sunday may be a day of rest but not for the Steam sales! Here are todays deals!

Tomb Raider -75% $17.49 USD

More Uncharted than Tomb Raider, the game was critically acclaimed when it was released. I haven’t put much time into it but you can read Pants’ review about it here if you’re thinking about it.

It’s a pretty good deal. All other Tomb Raider games are also 75% off and you can grab the entire collection (which includes Anniversary, the only way you can get it in Australia on Steam) for $22.49 USD.

Mars: War Logs -50% $9.99 USD

What do I know about this game? Nothing. What did I need to know about this game before I purchased it?

Mars – An Intense Cyberpunk Rpg On the Red Planet!

Checking out Metacritic it has a higher user review score than critic score, which to me says that it has potential, but maybe not the polish. Either way, check out some reviews before picking this up.

RPG Maker VX Ace -66% $23.79 USD

I’m not even going to bother to try and say I know anything about this one. So it’s 66% off and is $23.79 USD.

Borderlands 2 -66% $16.99 USD

I loved Borderlands 2. Most people will already know what Borderlands is but this game is very much worth the asking price. The Season Pass is also 66% off and is worth it purely for the Tina Tiny DLC.

Don’t forget to pick up the Mechromancer and Psycho packs too.

Stardrive -66% $10.19 USD

Another 4X space strategy game like Endless Space. This one focuses more on the action. I haven’t played it personally but it was reportedly developed by 1 guy which is very impressive. End game is apparently a bit weak however.

If 4X games are something you enjoy, this is worth checking out.

Age of Empires II HD -50% $9.99 USD

The ‘HD’ on the end of this is highly misleading. It’s not so much a HD update as they’ve really just added screen resolutions and made online easier. For fans of Age of Empires this is probably worth it, but the game doesn’t hold up as well as you might think. The AI is horrible and path finding is still pretty bad. There were horrible lag issues with online multiplayer when the game launched but this has apparently been fixed.

For Age of Empires fans only.

The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings Enhanced Edition -75% $4.99 USD

If you buy one game today, buy this one. It is an absolute steal at that price and has had some amazing post-launch support. The Witcher is also 75% and you can score it for $2.49 USD.

Sniper Elite Nazi Zombie Army -66% $5.09 USD

Take Sniper Elite and add zombies. That’s pretty much it. An expandalone game trying to cash in on the current ‘zombie’ craze. Best played in co-op.

Sniper Elite V2 is also on sale for $10.19 USD.

Might and Magic Heroes VI -66% $11.87 USD

I know surprisingly little about this one. It is, apparently, not the greatest entry in the series, but still got some good reviews.

It’s a turn based strategy game with RPG elements. If that appeals to you then you should check it out. It does however, use Ubisoft’s Uplay. So keep that in mind if that’s an issue for you.

Resident Evil 6 -50% $19.99 USD

Don’t be fooled by the title. This is not your standard survival horror game. It is an action game. And boy did it get some negativity about it when it came out. Although, that honestly made me more interested in it.

You can also grab Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (don’t, just don’t) for cheap as well. Out of the 3, Resident Evil 5 is the best game and the cheapest. But make sure you play it with a co-op partner because the AI is just awful.

That’s it for today!

  1. There was actually an error for a while where the pre-2013 Tomb Raider titles were 91% off… Underworld, for example, was $0.80! I missed it though. 😦
